WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Landlord charged after family of eight allegedly left without heat, a loud radio playing and an air compressor running all day and night

David D. Woolley, 27, of Wethersfield, was arrested following a complaint on Poplar Tree Road in the Town of Wethersfield on October 30, 2020.

Woolley is alleged to be a landlord of a multiple dwelling occupied by a family of eight, including six small children. The property was found to have a fully exposed basement, no operable heating system, and Woolley was alleged to have left an unreasonably loud radio playing and an air compressor running in an adjacent apartment day and all night for an extended period of time.

Due to temperatures below freezing, the occupants of the property called the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for assistance.

Following the investigation, Woolley was arrested on October 31, 2020 and charged as follows: Criminal nuisance 2nd, endangering the welfare of a child (6 counts), unlawful eviction (Real Property Law), lessor willfully violates lease terms (Real Property Law).

Woolley was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned virtually in the Town of Warsaw Court.

An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victims, and Woolley was released on his own recognizance pending a further court appearance in Wyoming County Court on December 10, 2020.

Carrie A. Stewart, 40, of Bennington was arrested on October 30, 2020 following a February 10, 2020 traffic stop.

Stewart was observed by deputies on February 10, 2020 driving a Chevrolet Silverado while dropping a child off at school in the Town of Attica. A traffic stop was conducted when Stewart left the school due to police having prior knowledge that Stewart’s driver’s license had four active suspensions.

During the traffic stop, Stewart was found to allegedly be in possession of multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia. Stewart’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and she was released to a third party.

Evidence was tested by the NYSP Crime Laboratory, and positive results came back for cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. Attempts to locate Stewart yielded negative results, so on August 31, 2020, an arrest warrant was issued for Stewart by the Town of Attica Justice Court. On October 30, 2020, Stewart appeared virtually in front of Judge Mohun of Wyoming County Court.

Stewart was arraigned on the following charges: Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th(3 counts), criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, and unlicensed operation.

Stewart was released following arraignment and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Attica Court on December 7, 2020.

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raymond Jemison, 38, of Cheektowaga, NY, following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw on October 30, 2020.

Deputies on patrol observed Jemison travelling at 58 mph in a 30 mph speed zone. Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found that Jemison had 13 active suspensions on 9 dates on his license.

A female passenger in the vehicle was found to have an active order of protection against Jemison.

Jemison is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree, criminal contempt 2nd, aggravated family offense and speeding in a zone.

Jemison was arraigned in the Village of Warsaw court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail with a return date of November 26, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
