GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia man runs from police with six year old in tow after larceny incident

Jason R. Anderson, 39, of Batavia, is charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and endangering the welfare of a child, after a larceny incident at Kohl’s Department store at 4170 Veteran’s Memorial Drive on November 7, 2020 at 7:01p.m.

Anderson fled the scene on a bicycle with his six hear old daughter on a separate bicycle.

Anderson was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on December 3, 2020 at 1:00p.m.

Shawn P. Wolcott, 38, of S. Main St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with menacing 2nd and criminal possession of a weapon 4th, after allegedly possessing a curved bladed knife and threatening a person, causing fear of physical injury on S. Main street road on November 7, 2020 at 1:19p.m.

Wolcott was held at the Genesee County Jail for arraignment.

Katherine J. Briggs, 41, of S. Main St., Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property 5th and switched plates, after a report of stolen license plates was received from Erie County.

On November 6, 2020, a Sheriff’s deputy was able to confirm the stolen plates on a vehicle using a license plate reader and a registration check and the suspect vehicle was pulled over on Rt. 33 in Stafford.

Briggs was identified as the operator of the vehicle, and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office was advised. Briggs was transported to the Genesee County Jail for fingerprinting and photographs and released with an appearance ticket.
