GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Bethany man facing charges after September motor vehicle accident

Matthew M. Maniace, 38, of Fargo Rd., Bethany, is charged with DWI/drugs, prior conviction within 10 years, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd and moving from a lane unsafely, after a one vehicle accident on Prole road extension in Stafford on September 8, 2020.

Following an investigation and toxicology results, Maniace allegedly was operating a motor vehicle while allegedly impaired by drugs, resulting in the accident.

Maniace also was allegedly in possession of drugs at the time of the accident and attempted to flee from the responding deputies on foot.

He will appear in Stafford Town Court on December 15, 2020 at 9:00a.m.

On December 2, 2020, Maniace was also charged with petit larceny after he allegedly agreed to repair parts of a victim’s truck on November 4, 2020.

While he was in possession of the truck, he took the keys and a tow hitch from the truck and never returned the items to the victim.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Bethany Town Court on December 22, 2020 at 7:00p.m.
