WYOMING COUNTY/Home is a total loss after fire in Castile, two dogs perish in the blaze

Two dogs perished in a house fire yesterday morning at 3719 Twin Bridge road in the Town of Castile.

Flames were showing through the roof when the first firefighters arrived on scene about 9:39a.m.

According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, the home is a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting the home owner, Julie Williams.

Fire companies from Perry, Perry Center, Castile, Gainesville, Silver Springs, Pike, Warsaw, Wyoming, Leicester and Cuylerville responded to the scene and were on location about 5 hours.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services and the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
