BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Washington avenue woman threatens officer with a knife

Alicia M. Lyons, 41, of Washington Ave., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny, menacing a police officer and criminal possession of weapon 4th, following an investigation into a larceny at 99 Jackson street, a local business.

When confronted by law enforcement officers, Lyons allegedly brandished a knife towards a police officer.

Lyons was arraigned in City Court and was scheduled to re-appear on February 10, 2021 at 1:00p.m.

Benjamin H. Lucas, 69, of Bank St., Batavia, is charged with forcible touching, after allegedly touching an employee of a local business at 278 Bank street inappropriately.

The incident occurred on January 26, 2021 at 12:20a.m.

Lucas was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in City Court on March 9, 2021 at 1:00p.m.

Alexander L. Baldwin, 32, of East Main St., Batavia, is charged with grand larceny 3rd following a fraud complaint on North street on January 27, 2021.

Baldwin was paid money for a construction job he never started.

He was arraigned in City Court by Judge Burns and released under the supervision of Genesee Justice. Baldwin will return to court on April 15, 2021.

Jason L. Jones, 49, of 76 Road, Brooktondale, NY, was located on Jefferson avenue and taken into custody without incident on a Batavia Police arrest warrant on the charges of trespass, reckless endangerment, assault 2nd and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, after a domestic incident on Dewey avenue on December 16, 2020 at 5:25a.m.

Jones allegedly struck a female with his vehicle, causing injury to the victim.

Jones was transported to the Genesee County Jail where he was arraigned virtually in City Court before Judge Rogers.

He was held on $2,000 cash/$4,000 bond/$8,000 partially secured bail.

Jones is scheduled to re-appear in City Court on March 11, 2021 at 3:30p.m.

Brandon C. Smart, 43, of Highland Park, Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd, criminal trespass 2nd and criminal mischief 4th, following a domestic incident on Liberty street on February 8, 2021 at 11:15a.m.

Smart was arraigned in City Court by Judge Rogers, and released under the supervision of Genesee Justice. He is scheduled to re-appear on March 25, 2021 at 2:30p.m.

Randy L. Ridd, 63, of William St., Batavia, is charged with petit larceny, following an investigation at a local business at 577 East Main street on February 7, 2021 at 11:28a.m.

Ridd allegedly attempted to take laundry detergent pods without paying for them.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on April 27, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
