PERRY POLICE REPORT/Perry man jailed after being charged with sex abuse

On March 4, 2021, after an extensive criminal investigation, the Village of Perry Police Department arrested Paul Forsyth, no age provided, of Perry, NY, and charged him with sex abuse 3rd, a class B misdemeanor.

It is alleged that during the winter of 2018, Forsyth engaged in sexual activity with a person between the ages of 16 and 17 years old.

Forsyth was virtually arraigned and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on $5,000 bail, $10,000 bond or $20,000 partially secured. Forsyth is due to appear in the Wyoming County Court at a later date.

On March 5, 2021, the Perry Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in the Village of Perry. Upon stopping the vehicle, it was believed that the vehicle operator, 29-year-old Cyle Hindle of Dansville, New York, was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was asked to submit to field sobriety testing.

After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Hindle was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A search of the vehicle revealed several open containers of alcoholic beverage. A breath test performed at the Perry Police Department determined Hindle to have a .22% blood alcohol content.

Hindle is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, BAC of .18% or higher, and ticketed for speeding in a zone and open container in a motor vehicle. Hindle was released to a sober third party with a return court date of April 6, 2021 in Perry Village Court to answer the charges.
