GENESEE COUNTY/SUV driver says he fell asleep and collided with a car on Galloway road

Two people were injured in a two vehicle accident at 2905 Galloway road on Sunday morning about 9:00a.m.

According to a Genesee County Sheriff’s Department accident report, an SUV being operated by Rylend L. Callicutt, 18, of Batavia, was traveling east on Galloway road and collided with a westbound car being operated by Danielle C. Neuhaus, 31, of Batavia, after Callicutt told deputies he fell asleep while driving, failing to keep right.

After the collision, Callicutt’s 2011 GMC SUV overturned and came to rest upright facing southwest. Neuhaus’ vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai sedan, came to rest facing east on the north shoulder of the roadway.

Both operators were injured. One was transported by Mercy Flight to ECMC, the other by ground ambulance.

Callicutt was ticketed for failure to drive on the right side of roadway by deputies.
