GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/One death and 36 new positive cases reported

o Data Update –3/15/21

o Genesee County received 26 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 4443 positive cases which includes the data from the weekend.

§ The new positive cases reside in the:

· West Region (Alabama, Darien, Pembroke)

· Central Region (Alexander, Batavia, Bethany, Elba, Oakfield)

· East Region (Bergen, Byron, LeRoy, Pavilion, Stafford)

§ The individuals are in their 0-19’s, 20’s, 30’s, 40s, 50’s and 60’s.

§ 19 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.

§ 3 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

§ We are very sad to report the COVID-related death of one of our county residents. The individual was over the age of 65. We do not provide any further information to protect the privacy of the individual and their family. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends during this very difficult time.

o Orleans County received 10 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2479 positive cases which includes the date from the weekend.

§ The positive cases reside in the:

· West Region (Yates, Ridgeway, Shelby)

· Central Region (Carlton, Gaines, Albion, Barre)

· East Region (Kendall, Murray, Clarendon)

§ The individuals are in their, 0-19’s, 20’s, 40’s, 60’s and 70’s.

§ 2 of the newly positive individuals was under mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 18 of the previous positive individuals has recovered and has been removed from the isolation list.

§ 3 of the current positive individuals is hospitalized.

§ One of the new positives is a resident at the Orchard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

  1. Please have the person writing up the narrative sections of the COVID-19 updates check the proper use of single and plural verbs relating to single and plural nouns.

    • The information is released by the Genesee Orleans County Health Department each day. Any issues with the data or narrative provided can be looked into by contacting their office during regular business hours.
