GENESEE ORLEANS/Health Dept./COVID-19 Update/29 new positive case reported, 8 hospitalized/Domestic travelers no longer required to quarantine as of April 1st

o Genesee County reporting 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 4651 positive cases.

§ The new positive cases reside in the:

· West Region (Alabama, Darien, Pembroke)

· Central Region (Alexander, Batavia, Bethany, Elba, Oakfield)

· East Region (Bergen, Byron, LeRoy, Pavilion, Stafford)

§ The individuals are in their 0-19’s, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 80’s.

§ 4 of the previous positive individuals have recovered and have been removed from the isolation list.

§ 5 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

§ 3 of the new positive individuals are inmates at the Genesee County Jail.

o Orleans County reporting 12 new positive cases of COVID-19 for a total of 2565 positive cases.

§ The positive cases reside in the:

· West Region (Yates, Ridgeway, Shelby)

· Central Region (Carlton, Gaines, Albion, Barre)

· East Region (Kendall, Murray, Clarendon)

§ The individuals are in their, 0-19’s, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 80’s.

§ 1 of the new positive individuals was on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

§ 1 of the previous positive individuals has recovered and has been removed from the isolation list.

§ 3 of the current positive individuals are hospitalized.

§ 1 of the new positive individuals is a resident of Orchard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

Beginning April 1st, New York State will no longer require quarantine for domestic travelers. International travelers will still need to quarantine. Regardless of quarantine status, all individuals exposed to COVID-19 or returning from travel must: o Continue daily symptom monitoring through Day 14; o Continue strict adherence to all recommended non-pharmaceutical interventions, including hand hygiene, and the use of face coverings, through Day 14 (even if fully vaccinated); o Must immediately self-isolate if any symptoms develop and contact their healthcare provider or the local public health authority to report this change in clinical status and determine if they should seek testing.

· As of March 30, 2021 anyone 30 years of age and older are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine along with the other priority groups. The state also announced that all residents age 16 and older will be eligible to receive the vaccines on April 6.

New York State launched the Excelsior Pass, (www.epass.ny.gov/home) a voluntary, free, fast and secure way to present digital proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results. It can be printed or stored digitally on a smartphone. Businesses and venues can scan and validate your pass to ensure you meet any COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements for entry. Adults may hold passes for accompanying minors.

Beginning April 2: Event, Arts, and Entertainment Venues– reopening at 33% capacity, up to 100 people indoors, 200 people outdoors. With attendee testing, capacity increases to 150 people indoors, 500 people outdoors. Rapid test is valid for 6 hours; PCR test is valid for 72 hours. Social distancing and face coverings are required by all attendees.
