GENESEE COUNTY/Bergen/Hair salon adds laundromat to the menu after Pandemic

Krista Lewis has been operating Radiant Hair Designs hair salon in the Village of Bergen since 2010.

When the Pandemic occurred last year, the salon was closed down.

“I cannot sit still, says Lewis. I said to my boyfriend Lee Zimmerman , let’s open a laundromat and he said sure.”

Zimmerman completed renovations at 10 South Lake avenue with help from Lewis’ two boys and after 10 months the Laundry Lounge officially opened it’s doors on Saturday. Radiant Hair Designs is located inside the Laundry Lounge along with Licensed Massage Therapist Josh Hunt.

There is a wide variety of vending machines available, with coffee, soda, snacks, and candy also offered.

And don’t forget the suds and fabric softener.

The Laundry Lounge offers detergent, fabric softener/dryer sheets, with fully coin operated machines with change machines accepting $1.00 bills.

Lisa Stanley and Samantha Donnelly also offer hairdressing services at Radiant Hair Designs.

In a few weeks the Laundry Lounge will also begin offering a wash, dry and fold service with pick up and delivery.

The Village of Bergen’s first Laundromat, the Laundry Lounge is open from 7am-10pm seven days a week.

“This is the first time a laundromat has been opened in our little town and it is much needed,” says Lewis.
