WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two arrested, one a convicted felon, during a traffic stop in Warsaw

Two individuals, including a convicted felon, were committed to the Wyoming County Jail following their arrest during a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw on April 9, 2021.

Brandon N. DeJesus, a convicted felon, was the driver of a 2015 Toyota Corolla with Pennsylvania plates which was stopped for following too closely on Route 20A at the intersection with Wyoming Street in the Village of Warsaw.

DeJesus was found to have a suspended Pennsylvania driver’s identification card, and a strong odor of burned marijuana was detected from within the vehicle. Additionally, a 7 year old boy and 11 year old boy were in the rear seat of the vehicle.

During roadside investigation, an illegally possessed Sig Sauer 9MM handgun was located underneath the driver seat, and the handgun was loaded with 17 9MM rounds. DeJesus, along with his front right female passenger, Kamilah Y. Pinero-Colon, were taken into custody without incident, and the 7 and 11 year old children were later turned over to family members. The vehicle, belonging to Pinero-Colon, was towed from the scene. DeJesus was further tested by a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert and was found to be impaired by Cannabis and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

DeJesus and Pinero-Colon were both charged with: criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree/ loaded firearm, a class C violent felony, and two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child. DeJesus was additionally charged with two counts of aggravated DWI/child in vehicle, Leandra’s Law, a class E felony, DWAI/drugs, unlicensed operation, following too closely, window tint violation, and inadequate child restraint seat.

DeJesus and Pinero-Colon were arraigned virtually in front of Warsaw Justice Court while being represented by the Wyoming County Public Defender’s Office. DeJesus was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail, $20,000.00 bond, or $30,000.00 partially secured bond. Pinero-Colon was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail, $10,000.00 bond, or $15,000.00 partially secured bond. Both DeJesus and Pinero-Colon are scheduled for further court proceedings in Wyoming County Court on April 16, 2021 at 11:00a.m..

The Warsaw Police Department assisted in the investigation at the scene of the traffic stop. Eddy’s Collision & More assisted with towing the suspect vehicle.

Deputies responded to Bray Road in the Town of Arcade for report of a domestic incident on April 9, 2021. It had been reported by a third party that two sisters were fighting and the extent of the fight was unknown.

Upon arrival, it was found that one of the sisters, who was 15 years of age, had fled the residence on foot. Following an investigation into the incident, an 18 year old female from the Bray Road address was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief in the 4th degree for preventing the victim from being able to call for emergency assistance.

The female was arraigned by a Town of Java Justice due to the juvenile victim and her parents requesting an order of protection. The 18 year old female was released on her own recognizance and is to appear in Arcade Town Court at a later date.

Tivon D. Lindie, 22, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on April 8, 2021.

Lindie was stopped after he was observed driving erratically, and during the traffic stop Lindie was found to have a suspended NYS Driver’s License with one active suspension for failure to answer a summons.

Lindie was processed roadside and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, failed to keep right, and using a portable electronic device while operating a motor vehicle.

He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charges in the Town of Sheldon Court on April 26, 2021. Lindie’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was picked up by a valid driver.
