GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Man already serving a prison term for stealing vehicles, facing more charges for vehicle thefts

Edward G. Ruckdeschel, 58, of Marcy, NY, is charged with burglary 3rd, a class D felony, 4 counts of grand larceny 3rd, a class D felony, and 3 counts of grand larceny 4th, a class E felony, regarding stolen vehicles in Genesee County from July of 2019 through April of 2021.

The charges represent ongoing investigations concerning 7 stolen vehicles from the Town of Batavia, Pembroke, Stafford, LeRoy and Bergen in the time frame above.

Ruckdeschel is currently incarcerated in a NYS prison following his sentencing on August 10, 2020 for previous stolen vehicles in Genesee County. Following his sentencing in August, he was arrested for two additional thefts of stolen vehicles on August 10, and August 11, 2020. These charges remain pending in Genesee County Court.

Ruckdeschel is schedules to appear in court on all charges on May 4, 2021

Rosemary R. Waters, 35, of East Main St., Batavia, is charged with 4 counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and aggravated unlicensed operations 3rd, after a traffic stop on Vine street in Batavia on April 23, 2021 at 1:23a.m.

Waters was stopped after a traffic violation was observed.

Waters was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while on a suspended license and unlawfully possessed four different types of controlled substances. She was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Batavia City Court on May 11, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
