GENESEE COUNTY/Man accused of stealing property in Stafford in 2020 and then selling it to a local business under a false a name

On February 12, 2020, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary to a detached garage on Transit road in the town of Stafford. As a result of the criminal investigation, David J. Reschke, no age or address provided, was arrested and charged with two counts of forgery 2nd and one count of criminal possession of stolen property.

Reschke allegedly sold the stolen property from the burglary to a local business in the Town of Batavia. Reschke completed the sale using a false name. Reschke also made an additional sales transaction on a separate date at a business in the town of Batavia under a false name.

On May 10, 2021, Reschke was arraigned virtually while at the Genesee County Jail by Judge Charles Zambito.

Under NYS bail reform law, the charges are not qualifying offenses and bail could not be set,

Reschke was released on his own recognizance and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court at a later date.
