A group of parents and their children gathered at Rt. 5 and 63 in Batavia late Monday afternoon to express their disappointment and frustration over the wearing of masks in school all day, especially during the warm weather.
Organizer Michelle Gillard says she and a few other moms organized the Supporting Fresh Air for Kids rally to support their children breathing fresh air while at school, in person.
Gillard says Friday afternoon was the tipping point for her and many parents who are wondering why their children are still required to wear masks in school when the positivity rate is under 1% and cases of COVID-19 in Genesee County are very low.
