BATAVIA/City of Batavia Police remind residents of their Camera Registry Program

Press release

The City of Batavia Police Department would like to remind residents of our Camera Registry Program.

Many investigations are solved due, in part, to cooperation from homeowners, landlords and business owners sharing video from their private camera surveillance system.

In order to streamline the investigative process, we ask anyone with a camera surveillance system to register it with us.

You can register your system on CrimeWatch by going HERE. Camera Registry | Batavia Police Department (crimewatch.net)

Officers are not able to monitor or track any data or images that you may have, however if an event takes place in the vicinity of your residence, property or business an officer or detective may contact you to ask you to share your video with us to help solve a crime.

There are no requirements to register and you can remove yourself from the program at any time. Any system large or small can make a difference. Thank you for helping us to protect our community.
