GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Darien man struggles with deputies during arrest, grabs butcher knife

Dean M. Conboy Sr., 56, of Harper Rd., Darien, is charged with attempted aggravated assault upon a police officer, menacing a police officer, assault 2nd, unlawful imprisonment 1st, criminal possession of a weapon 4th and obstructing governmental administration 2nd, after a domestic incident in Darien on June 11, 2021 at 7:19a.m.

Conboy Sr. allegedly menaced another person with a butcher knife and attempted to cause physical injury, resulting in the victim barricading himself in a bedroom.

Conboy Sr. then allegedly attempted to cause serious physical injury to deputies on scene by placing then in reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury and death, when he grabbed and armed himself with a butcher knife while deputies were struggling to take Conboy Sr. into custody.

Conboy Sr. was arraigned in Genesee County Court.

He is currently being held at the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $40,000 bond bail and $60,000 partially secured bond.

Jeffery M. Johnson, 33, of Forest Ave., Oakfield, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and possession of a hypodermic instrument, after a home check by Genesee County Probation and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

A quantity of fentanyl and 13 needles were allegedly located in the bedroom and vehicle of Johnson..

He was issued appearance tickets and will appear in Oakfield Town Court on July 12, 2021 at 6:00p.m.
