WYOMING COUNTY/Genesee Falls/Fire at Colonial Motel & Inn causes $125,000 in damages

Ten fire companies responded to the Colonial Motel & Inn at 6544 Rt. 19A in Genesee Falls on Wednesday night, for a reported structure fire.

The first fire crews arrived on scene at little after 7:30p.m., to find a fire outside of the structure that then extended up the side of the building and into the attic area.

According to Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, the fire caused $125,000 in damages and is under investigation. It is owned by Ed Bodsadowski.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

Fire crews from Pike, Bliss, Castile, Gainesville, Perry, Silver Springs, Fillmore, Wiscoy-Rossburg, Centerville and Nunda were on scene for about 5 hours. Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Wyoming County Sheriff’s, Pike Fire Dept. Squad 10, Allegany County Dist. 1 Fast Team, Perry Ambulance, Nunda Ambulance, National Fuel, Fillmore Gas and NYSEG.
