GENESEE COUNTY/Independent Living of the Genesee Region hires Megan Donohue as a Taking Control Administrative Assistant

Independent Living of the Genesee Region (ILGR), a member of the Western New York Independent Living, Inc. Family of Agencies, welcomes Megan Donohue as a Taking Control Administrative Assistant.   

Ms. Donohue recently earned an Associate’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York in 2021.  She had previously worked as a Dining Services Associate at Elderwood of Lakeside nursing home in Brockport, NY; and a Resident Care Supervisor at Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community in North Chili, NY.

Asked to describe her feelings on beginning this new position, Megan observes, “I’ve always had a passion for helping people in need, and I am ecstatic to work alongside so many great men and women to ensure the safety and health of the people in our community!”

In this position, Ms. Donohue has a variety of responsibilities to maintain the operation of the Taking Control Consumer-Directed Personal Assistant Service (CDPAS) program, which assists people with living independently in their own homes in the ILGR regional service area of Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming counties.  She will assist with the creation and maintenance of the electronic consumer records, as well as the Personal Assistants’ personnel and medical files, uploading documents into the Human Resources Information System.  She will also monitor Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory, assist with correspondence to consumers and Personal Assistants, and serve as a backup for the ILGR Receptionist.

ILGR is delighted that Megan Donohue is bringing her experience to serve the GOW region in her new capacity.
