After a strange ending to the Muckdogs game on Sunday evening, where the game’s winner was decided by the home plate umpire, in a 10-10 tie game in the bottom of the 9th, the Battle of the Badges game between City Fire and Batavia Police eventually got underway after a lengthy heavy rain shower that flooded the dugouts.
City Fire jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead early. But in the 7th inning, Batavia Police staged a comeback and eventually held a small lead into the 8th inning. City Fire, however, battled back taking a 22-19 lead and holding off BPD to win the inaugural Battle of the Badges game at Dwyer Stadium.
