WYOMING COUNTY/One person suffers smoke inhalation in Perry apartment fire

One tenant suffered smoke inhalation after an apartment fire at 55 S. Main street in the Village of Perry on Wednesday evening. The tenant was transported to WCCH via ground ambulance.

Four fire companies and two ambulances responded to the Traver Place Apartments about 9:02p.m.

After arriving on scene, a fire was located in apartment 115, which sustained a significant amount of damage. Minor smoke damage occurred throughout the remainder of the structure. All other tenants were able to return to their apartments.

According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, the estimated damage is $25,000. The cause was unattended cooking on the stove.

Fire crews from Perry, Perry Center, Castile, and Silver Springs were on scene for about 2.5.hours.
