Owners Bobbi and Fran Norton cut the ribbon on their new store located behind their residence at 4309 Gilhooly road in Alexander on Wednesday afternoon.
Norton’s Chizzelwood Millwork and Designs store front is now attached to their workshop.
Bobbi says when the store was located down the road at Norton Enterprises, her father in law’s business, there was a lot of going back and forth. Now the store is attached to their woodworking workshop.
“We do want people to know to drive up the driveway at 4309 Gilhooly road along the garage and to come shop with us,” says Bobbi.
The Nortons have been participating in craft shows, vendor events and festivals for over 20 years along with having a small storefront at Norton Enterprises.
The Nortons say woodworking is their passion. Bobbi retired from Batavia City Schools a few years ago and her husband will join her in retirement in a few years. They started woodworking many years ago, building various wood products, and then added Amish-made goods to their inventory.
The full line of Amish-made furniture is not on display at their store, but orders can be placed upon review of catalogs and through their connections with various Amish furniture builders. Custom woodworking is also available, just bring your ideas to Fran and Bobbi and they will create them for you.
