BATAVIA/Eighth grade softball star from Notre Dame earns MVP award and comes in 2nd in the Home Run Derby at the All American Games

Mia Treleaven, an eighth grade student at Notre Dame High School, participated in the 2021 Summer All American Games in Myrtle Beach this past weekend, playing for the Generals under Coach Kareem Falcon Otey. Treleaven played short stop this year, a position that she has never played before, but played very well according to her mom Karina.

In the Class of 2026, Treleaven earned an MVP award for her team and placed second in the Home Run Derby with 7 home runs, just one home run behind first place winner Jocelyn Sosa.

Mia has been playing softball for 3 years and as a 7th grader she played on the Notre Dame Varsity team. She is a pitcher for the Irish and also plays first and third base.

This past season she played for Edge, a local travel team, and as a substitute for her former Amherst Thunder team. She previously won two championships with the Amherst Thunder. The Lady Lions Tournament and the Clarence Tournament.


While playing under Coach Otis Thomas at Notre Dame last season, she broke the school record for the most strikeouts in a game (18 strike outs)
