Video highlights of the first quarter

The Batavia Blue Devils(7-1) won their matchup with the Wilson Magnet Wildcats in the first 6 minutes of the first quarter at VanDetta Stadium on Friday night.

Taking the lead on an Aiden Anderson run to the endzone to make it 6-0. Kicker Julia Petry was back in action and added the extra point to make it 7-0. In the Wildcats first series, Mathew McWethy intercepted the ball to set up the second touchdown by Cameron McClinic to make the score 13-0, with extra point 14-0.

Batavia recovered their kickoff after the touchdown and Anderson was able to run it down to the goal line, where quarterback Jesse Reinhart put on the finishing touch to make the score 20-0, the extra point was good and with 2:35 left in the first quarter, Batavia held a 21-0 lead.

The final score was 42-20.

Batavia will play a sectional game at VanDetta Stadium next week.

Video highlights of the second half

The OAE Aggies have finished their regular season 8-0, defeating Geneseo/Mt. Morris 58-14 on Friday night during Senior night.

At the start of the second half, the Aggies held a 44-0 lead. It seemed like the undefeated OAE team could not stop scoring. In the 3rd quarter, quarterback Bodie Hyde ran one in himself to make it 50-0 and the extra point was good. Back up quarterback Kameron Cusmano joined in on OAE’s next possession and ran one in for a touchdown, untouched, to make the score 57-0 and the extra point was good.

With 1:45 left in the 3rd quarter, Gavin Straton caught a long pass and ran it in for the Blue Devils first touchdown of the night, the two point conversion was good and it was 58-8 at the end of the quarter. In the 4th quarter, Eric Cole ran it in for 6 more to make the score 58-14, the two point conversion was not successful. Gage Chamberlain intercepted a Blue Devil pass in the 4th quarter in the red zone to end the Geneseo/Mt. Morris scoring chance with 22 seconds remaining in the game. The final score was 58-14.
