GENESEE COUNTY/Batavia/Notre Dame High School plans to initiate voluntary “Test to Stay” option on January 3rd

In a notice sent to parents and students, in collaboration with Genesee County Department of Health, Notre Dame High School is planning a program that will allow more students to remain in school.

 Starting January 3rd, Genesee County plans to initiate a voluntary Test to Stay (TTS) opportunity for individuals who are quarantined due to being a close contact to a positive case. (Vaccinated, asymptomatic individuals are still exempt from quarantine and can continue to come to school and all activities). TTS is not available to positive students.

 TTS is intended to provide an opportunity for students who are issued quarantine orders from
the health department to attend school (classes only, no after-school activities, no athletics,
and no extra-curricular activities) during their quarantine period.

 If a family chooses to participate, quarantined students that have no symptoms would have to
take a rapid test daily before school and if negative, could attend in-person learning that day.
Upon returning home after school, quarantined students are obligated to fulfill their quarantine
by remaining at home. Please note that TTS opportunity is optional for families and at home
test kits will be provided to the families, no out of pocket cost will be necessary.

 If your student qualifies for TTS, specific guidance will be provided to you by our COVID 19
Coordinator, Kate Edwards (kate.edwards@ndhsbatavia.com).

 In addition to the TTS program, the County is now accepting home kits that you might have
purchased on your own for use with your students or other family members. Positive at home
test will need to be reported within 24 hours at the following site:
