PERRY POLICE REPORT/Three facing drug charges after traffic stop on South Main street

PERRY, NY- Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of 3 individuals on several charges following an
investigation by the Perry Police Department.

On February 8, 2022, at 1:08 AM, Officer Spencer Kramell conducted a traffic stop at Kwik Fill on South Main Street in the Village of Perry for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

Upon interacting with the suspect, 29-year-old Christopher French-Lawson, of Bolivar, NY, Officer Kramell found Lawson’s New York license to be suspended. During a search, multiple bundles of heroin and syringes were discovered on Lawson’s person.

After further conversation with the other occupants in the vehicle, 27-year-old Nicole Hixson, of Wellsville, NY, and 55-year-old Ronald Denning Jr. of Bolivar, NY, Officer Kramell suspected further drug activity to
be present.

Officer Kramell, with the assistance of Deputy Nowak and Deputy Kemp, conducted a search of the suspect’s vehicle. The search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, heroin, suspected crack-crack cocaine, syringes, as well several other drug paraphernalia items used for packaging and distribution.

All three individuals were arrested and charged during the traffic stop. (Charges listed below) The three suspects were transported to the Perry Police Department where they were interviewed and processed.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Lawson had an arrest warrant out of Coudersport,
Pennsylvania for separate DWI/Drug-related charges. After consultation with the Wyoming County District
Attorney’s Office, Lawson was arraigned in Perry Village Court on the current charges before Judge Tammy Kelsey and Lawson was remanded to Officer Kramell’s custody. Lawson was represented by the
Wyoming County Public Defender’s Office at arraignment and was transported to Wellsville, NY
where Pennsylvania State Troopers took him into custody without incident.

Hixson and Denning were processed and released on their own recognizance, per NYS bail reform laws.

All three of the above individuals are due back in Perry Village Court on March 8th, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
