GENESEE COUNTY/LeRoy man indicted in September 2021 incident that closed down Rt. 33 in Stafford

Arthur J. Brown, 44, of LeRoy has been indicted and is accused of menacing a police officer, a class D violent felony, after intentionally placing or attempting to place a police officer in fear of physical injury, serious physical injury or death by displaying a deadly weapon, pistol, revolver or other firearm, whether operable or not in an incident in Rt. 33 near Mill road in the town of Stafford on September 19, 2021.

In count 2, Brown is accused of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a class C violent felony, for allegedly possessing a loaded firearm with intent to use it unlawfully during the incident mentioned above.

In count 3, Brown is further accused of tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, during the incident mentioned above.

In count 4 he is accused criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, after allegedly being found with a controlled substance, cocaine, during the incident mentioned above.

In count 5, Brown is accused of obstructing governmental administration 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, after fleeing on foot during a traffic stop by a member of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, during the incident mentioned above.

In count 6, the indictment further accuses Brown of DWAI/Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor, accusing brown of operating a motor vehicle while his ability to operate such vehicle was allegedly impaired by drugs.
