GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Rochester man charged after traffic stop in Bergen

On February 24, 2022, Deputy K. Quackenbush was on patrol in a marked Genesee County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle in the area of Rt.33 and West Bergen road, in the Town of Bergen about 9:07p.m., when he observed a vehicle that was traveling south on West Bergen road that failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Rt. 33.

After initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle’s operator identified himself as Marlon O. Hibbert, 35, of Rochester, NY. A license check revealed that Hibbert’s driving privilege in NYS was allegedly revoked.

During the traffic stop, Deputy Quackenbush believed there was possible criminal activity involved, Sheriff’s Deputy J. Stack along with K-9 Rayzor then also responded to the scene. During their investigation, a quantity of crack cocaine and a firearm, which Hibbert allegedly possessed, were located.

Hibbert was arrested and later arraigned in the Town of Bergen Court. He is charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug, criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, (both class B felonies), criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, unlicensed operator, a violation, and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign, a violation.

Hibbert was remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.

Three other passengers within the vehicle were released at the scene.

The investigation was conducted by Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy K. Quackenbush and assisted by Sgt. A. Hale, Deputy Stack and K-9 Rayzor, Deputy Chamoun and the Genesee County Drug Task Force along with the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office.
