ORLEANS COUNTY/Holley/Barn owner escapes partial roof collapse during high winds

The Murray Fire Department responded to 16499 Lynch road about 1:00p.m. on Sunday afternoon after someone driving by noticed a partial roof collapse on a barn there.
The owner of the barn says he was on the lower floor of the barn when the metal roof gave way during the high winds. The owner says he heard some noises but was unsure what it was.

When he exited the barn, winds were so strong he says, he had trouble standing upright.

According to the barn owner, the Murray Fire Department asked the owner to leave the structure and turn off the power, parts of the roof were occasionally blowing off in the wind while cameras were on scene later this afternoon.

The barn was used as an equipment/feed barn for several horses on the farm. The horses were not housed in the barn. The owner says the metal roof was about 10 years old.
