Melvin A. Huntley, 40, of Wilkinson Road, Batavia, is facing a 25 count indictment and is accused of predatory sexual assault(3 counts), a class AII felony, sexual abuse 1st degree(10 counts), a class D violent felony, rape 1st degree(2 counts), a class B violent felony, rape 2nd degree(1 count), a class E felony, rape 3rd degree(4 counts), a class E felony, course sexual conduct against a child 2nd degree(1 count), a class D felony and endangering the welfare of a child(4 counts), a class A misdemeanor, with incidents dating as far back as 2012 and continuing on through 2021.
Huntley is accused of repeated acts of sexual abuse with four children under the age of 17. Huntley was initially charged on July 8, 2021, after a Genesee County Sheriff’s Department investigation in to one victim. The investigation then continued, resulting in more charges filed against Huntley at the end of July 2021 and in September of 2021 involving three more victims.
Huntley has remained jailed since his arrest in July of 2021 and was arraigned earlier this afternoon in Genesee County Court.
