GENESEE COUNTY/Parolee accused of holding a person against their will and strangling them in a four-count indictment

Wade J. Murphy, 48, of Clarendon, NY, is facing a four-count indictment and is accused of unlawful imprisonment 1st degree, a class E felony, strangulation 2nd degree, a class D violent felony, assault 2nd degree, a class D violent felony, and attempted assault 2nd degree, a class E felony, after a physical altercation at a residence in the Town of Oakfield on July 12, 2021.

Murphy, who was on parole, allegedly held a female victim against her will, allegedly strangling her during the incident causing physical injury to the victim by means of a dangerous instrument, a boot.

He was arraigned in Genesee County Court earlier this morning and is in jail without bail.
