GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia man jailed without bail after being accused of sexually assaulting a child over an extended period of time

Melvin A. Huntley, 40, of Wilkinson Rd., Batavia, is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, course of conduct against a child 1st degree, rape 1st degree and sexual abuse 1st degree, after an investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department.

Huntley is accused of sexually assaulting a child/children over an extended period of time, beginning in September of 2014. He was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court on July 8, 2021 and jailed without bail.

A person is guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child when, being eighteen years old or more, he or she commits the crime of rape in the first degree, criminal sexual act in the first degree, aggravated sexual abuse in the first degree, or course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree, and the victim is less than thirteen years old. Predatory sexual assault against a child is a class A-II felony.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected.

Jon C. Brooks, 51, of Vroom Rd., Spencerport, is charged with aggravated DWI/Per Se-BAC of .18 % or more/no priors, DWI, and failure to keep right on a two lane road, after a traffic stop on Clinton street road in Bergen on July 10, 2021 at 3:18p.m.

Brooks was released with appearance tickets and is to appear in Bergen Town Court on August 4, 2021 at 5:00p.m.

Liza M. Beszczynski, 26, of Pearl St., Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt 1st, criminal mischief 3rd and harassment 2nd, following a domestic incident that occurred at a residence in the town of Batavia on July 6, 2021 at 11:44a.m.

Beszczynski was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court on July 9, 2021 and released on recognizance.

John W. Johnson, 64, of West Bank St., Albion, is charged with petit larceny, after deputies responded to Walmart, 4133 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, for a larceny complaint on July 9, 2021 at 3:40p.m.

Johnson allegedly stole property at the Walmart store totaling $27.72.

Johnson was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on July 26, 2021 at 10:00a.m.
