GENESEE COUNTY/Stafford man indicted after standoff in December of 2021

A Genesee County Grand Jury has indicted Christopher C. Say, of Stafford, NY, after a standoff in Stafford on December 26, 2021.

Say is accused of assault 2nd degree, a class D felony, after causing injury to a person with a dangerous instrument, a metal knuckle knife during the incident. Say has also been indicted on the charges of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree, a class D felony, attempted arson 3rd degree, a class D felony, after starting a fire or causing an explosion, criminal mischief 2nd degree, a class D felony, after damaging property of another in an amount exceeding $1,500.

In count five, Say is accused of making a terroristic threat, a class D felony, after threatening several NYS Troopers, Deputies and Stafford Fire Department members with deadly violence by means of an explosive.

In count six, Say is further accused of criminal mischief 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor, after intentionally damaging property of another person, an armored police vehicle.

Say was previously convicted of the crime of menacing 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, on November 29, 2012, in Batavia City Court, which forms the basis in count 2 of the current indictment, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree.
