WYOMING COUNTY/Perry home suffers significant damage in fire

According to Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, a home at 61 Walker road in the Village of Perry, Town of Castile, sustained significant damage to the structure and the contents, after sparks from a power tool ignited materials in a basket on Friday afternoon May 6, 2022 at 1:34p.m..

The home was undergoing renovation work at the time of the fire and the home was occupied by the owners Joey and Estelle Safford. They will be staying with family members.

Perry, Perry Center, Castile, Silver Springs and Perry EMS responded to the scene and were on location for 2.5 hours. Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Service, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department and NYSEG.
