On June 3, 2022, The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods following a complaint of a male subject who was soliciting citizens for money in exchange for a gold ring.
An investigation was initiated and the male subject along with a female passenger were identified inside of a vehicle. It is believed that the male subject and his female passenger were perpetrating a scam that was previously identified by law enforcement.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting any person who purchased jewelry from an individual in the Walmart parking lot, Dick’s Sporting Goods parking lot or the Batavia Downs parking lot to contact Investigator Ryan DeLong at 585-345-3000 ext. 3572 or Investigator Erik Andre at 585-345-3000 ext. 3574.
