WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Connecticut man facing drug charges after traffic stop in Orangeville

Christopher M. Mcardle, 33, of Putnam, Connecticut, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville on July 15, 2022. Mcardle was the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic which was stopped by Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies for an expired Connecticut vehicle registration.

During the course of roadside investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was
conducted. Mcardle was found to allegedly be in possession of the following illegal items: 4.27 grams cocaine, 58 dosage units of lysergic acid diethylamide [LSD], 8 grams psilocybin, various pharmaceuticals including Oxycodone, Alprazolam, and Clonazepam, 99.5 grams of cannabis, a digital scale, vacuum sealing equipment, and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Mcardle’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Eddy’s Collision, and Mcardle was taken to the Wyoming
County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third
degree, a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree [5 counts], unlawful possession of cannabis, and unsecured license plate.

Mcardle was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court, and was released on his own recognizance in compliance with NYS Bail Reform Guidelines.

Mcardle is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Town Court on October 5, 2022 for further court proceedings.

A traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw led to the apprehension of a felony warrant suspect.
On July 17, 2022, at 3:58a.m., Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop with a 2005 Toyota for speeding.

The driver, Edwin Lopez Morales, 41, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, was found to be driving with an identification card which had two active suspensions in New York State. Lopez Morales was also found to have an active warrant of arrest out of Dunkirk, NY for aggravated criminal contempt, a class D felony. The warrant had been issued in 2020.

There was also an additional misdemeanor warrant of arrest for Lopez Morales out of Erie County, NY for aggravated unlicensed operation which had also been issued in 2020.

Lopez Morales is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third Degree, unlicensed operation, speeding in a zone, and side windows non-transparent.

Lopez Morales is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Warsaw Court on August 1, 2022. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was then turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office regarding their warrant. Lopez Morales was to be turned over to the Dunkirk Police Department after being arraigned in Erie County.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies responded to East Main street in the village of Arcade to assist the Arcade Police Department with a traffic stop on July 17, 2022.

Upon arriving at the scene, a male occupant attempted to leave the scene. Deputies stopped the male who became aggressive in nature. The male was identified as Joel A. Aberth, 36, of Arcade, NY.

Aberth was found to allegedly be in possession of a silicone and glass methamphetamine smoking pipe. Upon arresting Aberth, he was also found to allegedly be in possession of 1.21 grams of crystal methamphetamine in his pants pocket.

Aberth was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Aberth was arraigned in Sheldon Town Court and was released from custody in compliance with NYS Bail Reform.

He is scheduled to return to Arcade village court on August 4, 2022 for further court proceedings.
