BYRON/Fatal motorcycle collision after striking a deer

PRESS RELEASE

On July 24, 2022, at 8:16 P.M., Troopers out of SP Batavia responded to a motorcycle collision involving a deer on Cockram Road in the town of Byron. Further investigation revealed that a 1998 Harley Davidson operated by Leland L. Fuller IV, 30 of Byron, NY was traveling east bound on Cockram Road with a passenger, Daylin Fagundo-Rodriguez, 28 of Byron. 

While traveling on Cockram road, a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the Harley Davidson.  Both occupants were ejected.  Fuller was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries and Fagundo-Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deer was also deceased at the scene.

The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted in this investigation.

This is still an active investigation.
