GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Pair accused of attempting to steal heavy equipment

Raymond M. Hardy, 41, of Rochester, NY, and Chris H. Monfort, 50, of Henrietta, NY, are each charged with attempted grand larceny 2nd degree, after allegedly attempting to steal heavy equipment from a location on Oak Orchard road in Elba, NY on September 16, 2022, at 7:11a.m.

Dispatchers received a call from a citizen advising that they observed a vehicle and a person on the property, and they believed the person and vehicle should not have been on that property. Deputies arrived on scene and both Hardy and Monfort were located on the property and after an investigation they were taken into custody.

Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Oakfield Court. Hardy was additionally charged with criminal possession of stolen property 5th degree and Monfort was additionally charged with criminal mischief 4th degree.

Monfort was remanded to the custody of the Genesee County Jail after being charged with a felony and had two or more prior felony convictions.

Hardy was released on his own recognizance. Both were issued orders of protection.

The investigation is being handled by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Road Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division.

Kyle J. Stack, 36, of Batavia, NY, is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd degree, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a controlled substance, following a traffic stop at 390 West Main street on September 15, 2022, at 6:15p.m.

Deputies stopped Stack for a violation of NYS vehicle and traffic law, and during the stop, Stack fled on foot but was apprehended after a short pursuit where he allegedly fought with deputies.

Stack was found to allegedly be in possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle with a revoked license. He was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and was then released with an appearance ticket.

Stack is to appear in Batavia City Court on September 27, 2022, at 1:00p.m.

Anthony D. Rossi, 42, of Greece, NY, is charged with burglary 3rd degree/illegal entry with intent to commit a crime, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, after allegedly committing a burglary in an attached shed of a residence on Rt. 98 in Elba on September 14, 2022, at 4:27p.m.

Rossi was also allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine while being searched during his arrest.

Rossi was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court. He will appear in Elba Town Court on September 27, 2022, at 2:30p.m.

Matthew M. Keiffer, 35, of Lyndonville, NY, is charged with burglary 3rd degree, a class D felony, grand larceny 4th degree, a class E felony, and criminal mischief 3rd degree, a class E felony, after allegedly entering and remaining in a building on Vision Parkway in Pembroke, and while inside, allegedly stole a credit card.

Keiffer was arraigned in the Town of Pembroke Court and released on his own recognizance and will appear in court on November 3, 2022, at 1:00p.m.

The case is being investigated by Deputy Kevin McCarthy and Investigator Erik Andre.

Calvin P. Doctor, 33, of Alabama, NY, was arrested on an arrest warrant for two counts of menacing 2nd degree, stemming from an incident that occurred on September 12, 2022, in Alabama.

Doctor was arraigned in Alabama Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in court on October 4, 2022.

Carlo R. D’Angelo, 43, of Pavilion, NY, was arrested on a federal arrest warrant while located on Park road in the Town of Batavia on September 17, 2022. It is alleged that D’Angelo was in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest and is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

He was issued an appearance ticket and was held at the Genesee County Jail pending federal custody.
