The pair showed up at the door of a Burke Drive resident.

They were very upset, and one was crying about her hands freezing, the homeowner said. The resident, unaware that the alleged larceny suspects were running from police, let them inside of their residence. The pair were only wearing hoodies and one was wearing crocks on their feet.

The resident offered them coffee, they asked for jackets to warm up. They told the homeowner their car had broken down and they were waiting for a ride. Once inside, they asked to use the bathroom. One of the alleged suspects then asked if they could smoke a cigarette. The homeowner advised they would have to go outside in the garage area to smoke. This is when the resident noticed a group of police vehicles in front of the house. One of the vehicles was unmarked, the homeowner thought the alleged suspects ride was being pulled over. When the homeowner returned to the kitchen area, the alleged suspects were no longer there. The pair most likely jumped the fence in the backyard. They left wearing the two jackets the homeowner had temporarily loaned them while they waited for their ride. That’s when the homeowner called police, who then tracked the pair to a shed on Genesee Street around the corner.

The homeowner was then advised by police that the pair were in possession of a key fab taken from the residence. The vehicle was not at home at the time of the incident, and could not be reached with the fab.
