On 02/08/2023 at approximately 02:24 PM, The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to
State Route 78 and Hermitage Road in the Town of Wethersfield for the report of a serious
motor vehicle accident.
A preliminary investigation determined that two tractor trailers collided after one failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. One of the tractor trailer drivers was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing, and more information will be provided at a later time.
