WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Cheektowaga man charged in traffic stop

On January 30, 2023, at approximately 9:16 p.m., a Deputy from the Wyoming County
Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 20A in the town of Sheldon, after observing a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Contact was made with the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle, Charles Silverschatz, 38, of Cheektowaga, NY, who was found to have a suspended NYS driver’s license. During the course of the roadside investigation, Silvershatz was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms.

Silvershatz was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th (2 counts) aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, unlicensed operator and unregistered motor vehicle.

Silverschatz was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Sheldon
Court at a later date for purposes of arraignment.

On February 6, 2023, a Wyoming County Jail inmate was charged with assault 2nd degree after allegedly punching another inmate numerous times causing injury in an incident that occurred on February 1, 2023.

Ethan Davis, 22, of Nunda, NY, was arraigned in Warsaw Court and was committed back to jail on $20,000 bail. Davis is scheduled to appear back in Warsaw Court at a later date.
