BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/February 27, 2023

An 18-year-old male of Washington Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with Criminal Contempt 1st degree. On 2/16/23, Officer Martinez arrested an 18-year-old male for Criminal Contempt 1st degree after an investigation into a physical domestic incident.  He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and is scheduled to reappear at a later date.

Lyndsay T. Young, 39, of N. Main Street, Warsaw, NY, is charged with Criminal Contempt 1st degree. On 2/22/23, Officer Post arrested Young on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia City Court for Criminal Contempt 1st degree after she allegedly had contact with an individual that has a stay away order of protection against her. Young was arraigned and held at the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $1 cash bail with a return date of 3/07/23 at 2:00pm.

Enrique J. Pellot, 42, of Avenue A, Rochester, NY, is charged with Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Coercion 3rd degree. On 2/15/23, Officer Martinez arrested Pellot for the above charges after a domestic incident that occurred at the Batavia Police Department parking lot where it is alleged that he threatened a female with a knife.  Pellot was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown.

Christine M. Caplis, 42, of Clinton Street Road, Batavia, NY, was arrested on a bench warrant for failure to appear. On 2/18/23, Officer Rissinger arrested Caplis on a bench warrant issued by Batavia City Court for failure to appear after she was arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office on warrants out of their office.  Caplis was originally arrested for failure to pay for services from a local restaurant on 11/05/2021 and issued an appearance ticket.  Caplis was then arrested on five subsequent failure to appear warrants from the original charge: On 12/28/21, arraigned and released, on 6/26/22, appearance ticket issued per Judge, on 8/13/22, arraigned and released under supervision, on 9/18/22, released with an appearance ticket, on 10/7/22, arraigned and held pending return to court.  Caplis was turned over to the Genesee County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown.

Christopher H. Monfort , 50, of Hidden Valley Trail, Webster, NY, is charged with switched license plates, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. On 2/18/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Monfort for the above charges after investigating a complaint of a vehicle parked at a local gas station’s pumps for about one hour.  The vehicle allegedly had switched plates. Monfort also allegedly was in possession of a controlled substance and his driver’s license was suspended. Monfort was issued tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 3/7/23 at 1:00 pm. 

Anna L. Roberts, 35, of Lincoln Road, East Rochester, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. On 2/18/23. Officer Weglarski arrested Roberts for the above charge after investigating a complaint of a vehicle parked at a local gas station’s pumps for about one hour.  Roberts was a passenger in the vehicle and allegedly was in possession of a controlled substance.  Roberts was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 3/7/23 at 1:00 pm. 

Jose M. Baez, 41, of Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. On 2/18/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Baez for the above charges after investigating a complaint of a vehicle parked at a local gas station’s pumps for about one hour. Baez was a passenger in the vehicle and allegedly was in possession of a controlled substance. Baez was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 3/7/23 at 1:00 pm. 

Henry L. Banks, 52, of Vine Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs. On 2/21/23, Officer Rissinger arrested Banks for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs after Banks allegedly failed field sobriety tests.  Banks was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court on 3/14/23 at 9:00am. 

Marya B. Cole, 39, of Bank Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident and False Written Statement. On 2/22/23, Officer Freeman arrested Cole for the above charges after she allegedly called police on 2/19/23 and reported her boyfriend was walking on Ross Street after displaying a handgun to her.  Police detained the male subject on Ross Street south of Ellsworth Ave.  Police completed a thorough search for the gun throughout the area from the location where he was stopped at, and north to Bank Street.  A deposition was signed by Cole.  Cole is alleged to have later admitted lying to police about the gun.  Cole was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 2/28/23.

Lorenzo Baker, 20, of Dellinger Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs, Unlicensed Operator, Using Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Contempt Second degree. On 2/20/23, Officer Gombos arrested Baker on the above charges after an investigation into a traffic stop.  It is alleged that Baker was operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and while allegedly smoking marijuana.  It was also found the protected party in a stay away order of protection against Baker was present inside of the vehicle.  Baker was transported to the Genesee County Jail and arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown.

Paul A. Inostroza, 32, no address, is charged with Criminal Contempt Second degree. On 2/21/23, Sgt. Coffey arrested Inostroza, already in custody on an unrelated charge, on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia City Court for Criminal Contempt Second degree. The charges stem from an investigation on 1/29/22 into bruising on a 4-year-old child.   Inostroza was held on bail pending his next court appearance on 3/2/23 at 1:30pm.  

Paul A. Inostroza, 32, no address, is charged with Criminal Contempt Second degree. On 2/21/23. Sgt. Coffey arrested Inostroza, already in custody on an unrelated charge, on a bench warrant issued by Batavia City Court for Criminal Contempt Second degree. The warrant stems from a domestic incident arrest made on 12/23/21 where Inostroza was issued an appearance ticket and subsequently failed to appear.  Inostroza was held on bail pending his next court appearance on 3/2/23 at 1:30pm.  

Christine M. Sanchez-Anderson, 34, of E. Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with Failure to Appear after appearance ticket issued. On 2/16/23, Officer Perkins arrested Sanchez-Anderson on a bench warrant issued by Batavia City Court for failure to appear.  The warrant stems from an appearance ticket that was issued to Sanchez-Anderson after an arrest on 10/4/22 for Obstructing Governmental Administration where she allegedly ran from police while they were attempting to arrest her on other warrants.  Sanchez-Anderson was held at the Genesee County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown. 

Kelly J. Mungo, 47, of East Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with Petit Larceny. On 2/9/23, Officer Weglarski arrested Mungo for Petit Larceny after a shoplifting complaint at a local convenience store.  Mungo was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 2/28/23. 

Tiesha D. Smith, 36, of Montclair Avenue, Batavia, NY, is charged with Criminal Contempt Second degree. On 2/16/23, Officer Yung arrested Smith on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia City Court for Criminal Contempt Second degree after Smith was issued a subpoena and failed to appear in Batavia City Court as a witness on August 19, 2021.  Smith was held for Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown. 

Patrick J. Woodrich, 52, of West Main Street Road, Batavia, NY, is charged with failing to exercise due care to avoid a pedestrian, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper right turn, failing to keep right on a two-lane road, and leaving the scene of an accident. On 2/16/23, Officer Tucker arrested Woodrich on an arrest warrant issued by Batavia City Court for the above charges after a car vs. pedestrian motor vehicle accident that occurred on 7/24/2018 at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Thomas Avenue where Woodrich is alleged to have then fled the scene. Woodrich was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear on 2/22/23 at 3:00pm.

Ashley J. Delong, 36, of Rolling Circle, Batavia, NY, is charged with aggravated DWI, driving with a BAC >.18%, DWI, and no taillights. On 2/17/23, Officer Gombos arrested Delong for the above charges after a traffic stop. Delong was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court at a later date.

Misty R. Schutt, 33, of Exchange Street, Attica, NY, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and failing to stop at a stop sign. On 2/7/23, Officer Gombos arrested Schutt for the above charges after a traffic stop where it is alleged, she was in possession of crack-cocaine.  Schutt was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court at a later date.
