BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/March 20, 2023

Alexandro Rodriguez, 26, of East Main Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree. On 3/9/23, Officer Mruczek arrested Rodriguez for criminal contempt in the first degree after an investigation into a domestic incident at an address in the City of Batavia where it is alleged that Rodriguez violated an order of protection.  Rodriguez was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear in Batavia City Court on 4/20/23 at 1:30pm.

Jessica L. Holtz, 39, of Austin Street, Rochester, NY, was arrested on two bench warrants out of Batavia City Court. On 3/11/23. Officer Crossett arrested Holtz on two outstanding bench warrants issued by Batavia City Court.  The first bench warrant stems from a petit larceny charge at a local convenience store located on Jackson Street on 11/18/2021.  The second bench warrant stems from a petit larceny charge from a local church located on South Swan Street on 11/27/2021.  Holtz was originally arrested on 11/27/2021 where she was issued an appearance ticket.  Holtz was then arrested on a bench warrant for failing to appear on 2/02/2022 where she was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released.  Holtz was then arrested on another bench warrant for failing to appear on 5/1/2022 where she was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released.  Holtz was then arrested on 1/29/2023 for failing to appear and held for Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown.  Finally, she was arrested on 3/11/23 on a bench warrant for failing to appear and held for Centralized Arraignment Part Court, status unknown. 

James N. Laurich, 37, of Buffalo Road, East Aurora, NY, is charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation third degree, unlicensed driver, and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. On 3/11/2023, Officer Gombos arrested Laurich on the above charges after an investigation into a disturbance.  It is alleged that Laurich fled the scene while having a suspended driver’s license and while allegedly being intoxicated by alcohol.  He was stopped on Washington Avenue, administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, and was then arrested and transported to the Batavia Police Department for further processing. Laurich was issued traffic tickets to appear in Batavia City Court and released.

Carolyn L. Kurek, 80, of State Street, Batavia, NY, is charged with harassment second degree. On 3/10/2023, Officer Freeman arrested Kurek for harassment second degree.  It is alleged that she shoved another woman while at a State Street address. Kurek was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Batavia City Court on 3/14/2023.
