According to Lt. Paul Dougherty, with Pavilion Fire, when the crew of four volunteer firefighters arrived on scene, the fire had spread into the attic, and fire started dropping from the ceiling on top of firefighters who were inside, so fire crews pulled out and fought the fire from the exterior.
