Gerald L. Smith, 37, of Walnut St., Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, moving from a lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, following a one vehicle accident in the Town of Stafford on Byron Road on June 25, 2023 at 10:18PM.
Smith was observed by a Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy traveling north on Byron Road when he failed to negotiate a turn and went off the roadway and into a wooded area.
After an investigation, its is alleged that Smith was in possession of a quantity of cocaine, scales and bags used for the packaging and sale of cocaine.
Smith was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and released with an appearance ticket. He will appear in Stafford Town Court on July 18, 2023 at 3:00PM. Further charges are pending.

Jacob W. Patterson, 27, of Killian Rd., Pembroke, NY, is charged with destroying physical evidence, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration 2nd degree, after a traffic stop on Dellinger Avenue in in the City of Batavia on June 21, 2023 at 1:41AM.
During the course of the traffic stop, Patterson was identified as a backseat passenger. Deputies were aware that Patterson had active warrants out of the Sheriff’s Office, the City of Batavia Police Department and several other WNY police agencies.
While attempting to take Patterson into custody, he allegedly resisted and fought with deputies. He was eventually taken into custody by deputies.
Upon further investigation, with assistance from Deputy Stack and K9 Rayzor, a controlled substance was recovered from the vehicle. Patterson allegedly attempted to destroy the controlled substance in effort to conceal the substance from deputies.
Patterson was transported to the Genesee County Jail where he was processed on the arrest and active warrants. He was held pending Central Arraignment Court.

Gary L. Dewind, 53, of W. Bergen Rd., Bergen, NY, is charged with assault 3rd degree, following a domestic incident in Darien on June 18, 2023.
Dewind was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and held pending CAP Court arraignment.

Autumn E. Celotto, 24, of Groveland St., Buffalo, NY, is charged with petit larceny following a complaint of a larceny at Darien Lake Theme Park at 9993 Alleghany Road in Darien on June 18, 2023 at 9:00PM.
Celotto was arrested and issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Darien Court on July 11, 2023 at 4:00PM.
