NYS Police Report/Alden man facing felony charges, accused of destroying car with a pickaxe and firecracker

On August 1, 2023, troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested Brett E. Coon, 32, of Alden, NY, charging him with criminal mischief 1st degree, and criminal mischief 2nd  degree, class D felonies.

On August 1, 2023, Troopers responded to a domestic incident on Bambi Drive in Strykersville, NY. Coon had allegedly been communicating via text and then responded to the residence with a pickaxe, destroying a vehicle located in the driveway and setting off some type of firecracker inside the vehicle, destroying the interior and windows.

Coon was arrested and arraigned in front of a Judge.

Coon was released and is to appear in the town of Sheldon court at a later date in August 2023.


On August 4, 2023, Troopers out of SP Warsaw arrested Zachary T. Draper, 25, of Batavia, NY, charging him with petit larceny and identity theft 3rd.

On August 4, 2023, Troopers responded to a domestic incident on East Bethany Road in the town of Middlebury. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Draper had allegedly been making transactions from a bank account that did not belong to him and he did not have permission to do so. Transaction logs were located on Draper’s cell phone. Draper was arrested and transported to SP Warsaw for processing.

Draper was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Middlebury court for October16, 2023.
