The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office with the help of Niagara County Sheriff’s Air 1 helicopter, has located a missing woman on Carton Road in the Town of Murray. Linda Donovan, 67, went missing about 12:30p.m. on Monday, and was last seen in a wooded area with her boyfriend and wandered off.
Donovan was found by Niagara County Sheriff’s Air-1 helicopter walking in a swampy area about 4:30p.m., according to Sheriff Christopher Bourke.
“Air-1 hovered until Sheriff’s deputies in off road vehicles were able to get to her, approximately a 1/4 mile off the road,” said Bourke.
Donovan was transported out of the area to the roadway by deputies, Murray Joint Fire EMS and Monroe Ambulance for evaluation.
“It was a very good ending to a story that could have had a tragic conclusion.”
Along with Sheriff’s Office personnel, K9 Otto, Orleans County Emergency Management, NYSP K9, DEC K9, Niagara County Sheriff’s Air-1 Helicopter and Niagara County Sheriff’s Office blood hound assisted in the search.
