WYOMING COUNTY/Careless disposal of smoking items causes house fire in Warsaw

Careless disposal of smoking items was the cause of a house fire in the Village of Warsaw on Sunday night, according to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services.

Fire companies from Warsaw, Silver Springs, Perry Center and Wyoming responded to 56 Frank Street at 6:55p.m., to find fire in the second-floor bathroom. The fire was contained to the bathroom and caused $10,000 in damages. No one was injured.

The home is owned by Mark and Laura Yarington. The occupants are not able to live in the home currently due to smoke and water damage.

Fire crews were on scene about 2 hours.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Warsaw Police Department, NYS Police, and NYSEG.
