ORLEANS COUNTY/Albion Police Report/Albion man with an active warrant, allegedly found with a large amount of drugs

On 08/20/2023 at 11:40p.m., an Albion Police Department officer was on routine patrol and observed a
male at a residence on Beaver Street who had an active arrest warrant out of the Albion Police Department.
Albion Police Department officers took the male into custody without incident.

Subsequent to the arrest, officers searched the male and did locate a large amount of cocaine, marijuana and distribution bags for sale as well as $600.00 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, Jayah Osby, 23, who resides in Albion, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance/Narcotics and Criminal Possession Narcotic Drug with Intent to Sell, both are class B felonies.

On 08/20/2023 at 08:14a.m., the Albion Police Department was dispatched to Plaza Liquor Store at 127A
South Main Street, Albion, for the reported front window smashed out.

Upon arrival, officers did observe a broken window and damaged door frame and did observe the business was burglarized. Officers began an investigation and determined there was approximately $2,000.00 damage to the building. Officers determined there was approximately $336.02 damage to alcohol bottles. Officers determined approximately $90.01 worth of alcohol and cash were stolen.

Officers completed their investigation at the scene.

Albion Police Department canvassed the area for cameras and were able to obtain video footage from numerous businesses in the area and were able to secure footage of the suspect.

On 08/21/2023 Albion Police Department canvassed the area and local businesses and were able to determine a potential name of a suspect.

The Albion Police Department identified the suspect as Michael R. Bauer of Albion NY. Albion Police Department did locate Michael Bauer in a local business and was transported to Albion Police Department and was interviewed.
As a result of the investigation Michael Bauer was arrested and charged with burglary 3rd degree: Illegal Entry with Intent, a D felony, criminal mischief 2nd degree, a class D felony and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
