GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Corfu man charged after police pursuit

Cody L. Pahuta, 32, of Alleghany Rd., Corfu, NY, is charged with possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree/previous conviction, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd degree, aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree/previous conviction and reckless driving, after leading police on a short pursuit while on a black Kawasaki motorcycle on Wortendyke Road in Batavia on October 3, 2023 at 7:46p.m.

After an investigation, it was found that the NYS registration for the motorcycle was allegedly fake. Pahuta also possessed a switch blade knife.

Pahuta was taken into custody and arrested. He was processed at the Genesee County Jail and was held pending his arraignment in CAP Court on October 4, 2023 at 9:00a.m.

Joseph F. Kosnik, 54, of Maple Rd., Corfu, NY, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle 3rd degree, after allegedly operating a truck without the owner’s consent on Treadeasy Drive, in the town of Batavia on October 3, 2023 at 2:30p.m.

Kosnik will appear in Batavia Town Court on November 7, 2023 at 3:00p.m.

Johnny B. Koonce Jr., 33, of Conlon Rd., LeRoy, NY, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd degree, after allegedly violating a full stay away order of protection on October 3, 2023 at 2:38a.m.

Koonce was at a location and in the presence of the protected party.

Koonce was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and was held pending a CAP Court arraignment on October 4, 2023.
