WYOMING COUNTY/Four dogs rescued in fire on Christ Road in Warsaw

Four family dogs were rescued from a house fire on Christ Road in the Town of Warsaw on Monday afternoon, after smoke was spotted coming from the house by a mail carrier.

Fire crews from Warsaw, Silver Springs, Perry Center, Wyoming, Attica and Varysburg responded to the residence owned by Darren and Tammy Long about 3:27p.m.

No injuries were reported and crews were on scene for about four hours.

Both occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross after the home sustained significant damage from the fire. Estimated loss is $100,000. Four family dogs were rescued by firefighters.

The cause remains under investigation.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Wyoming County Sheriff’s, Red Cross, Warsaw Police Department, NYS Police and NYSEG.
